Project #1: Online Distance Course Report
|
ITEC 67436 Distance Education - Summer 2018
For the distance report, I interviewed Dr. Jennifer Brown in June 2018. It was eye opening to interview an expert working in distance education. I particularly enjoyed seeing the variety of methods of instruction she used in the classroom. I enjoyed all of the interviews I was able to do as it gave me insight into what the future holds post-graduation.

Project #2: Maier Music Studio Podcast
ITEC 67438 Instructional Applications of the Internet - Summer 2017
The Maier Music Studio Podcast Episode 1 was created using Audacity to assist voice students in finding chest, head and belt voices. Exercises are included so students can hear how it the voices should sound and and they can also sing along to practice feeling resonance chambers. The goal of this podcast is for singers to understand the difference between the three voices and to feel where the resonance chambers lie in each voice. My voice students used this podcast and it encouraged me to create a number of audio recorded exercises for them to work with at home.
Project #3: Ed Tech Trends Paper
ITEC 57430 Computer Applications in Education - Spring 2018
The Ed Tech Trends Paper assignment was to help an existing organization reach their performance goals. The organization I chose was one I was an active member of. It was eye opening to see what simple changes they could make with technology they were already using. I found my largest limitations were that the company was resistant to change.

Project #4: Project Management Plan
|
ITEC 67425 Managing Technological Change - Spring 2019
This hypothetical project management plan was a proposal to use special features in blackboard to save teacher time. I've found that I don't need to interact with teachers who use these features in blackboard and thought it would be a great project. My favorite part of this project was using smartsheet. I created a GANTT chart to help with project task tracking. I really enjoyed the format of the GANTT chart and think it could help a lot of businesses to stay on track with task management.

Reflective Statement
Standard A: Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations
- The project management plan demonstrated fluency in SmartSheet, a program which created a GANTT Chart.
- I learned how to create a podcast. This allowed to me to explore Audacity. I had a prior knowledge of Audacity with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education and I transferred my knowledge to allow me to create this podcast.
- In project 1, the Online Distance Course Report, I communicated with a community member, Dr. Brown, for the distance course report. It was a great experience to use the internet to communicate with someone in my field to support my learning.
- I was able to communicate with community members for Project 3's Ed Tech Trends paper. I asked members of the community at my gym what they would change if they could to research how to best improve the gym.
- Project 2's podcast helped me to teach my students outside of class. The podcast was a great reference of study and practice guide for students.
- The project management plan I used in Project 4 used a variety of digital age media formats to communicate with teachers.
- Project 4's Project Management Plan helped teachers to quickly manage time, and evaluate where they were in implementing blackboard in their curriculum.
